New U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set to make
major announcement of new, more protective Ozone Rule

Ozone Standard for clean air in Texas!

Corpus Christi – location tba WHY: On the longest night of the year, the EPA will signal a bright shining ray of hope for clean air in Texas! The new US EPA will announce a proposed revision leading to a new, more protective clean air standard for ozone which is the major source of asthma-causing, urban smog.
The good news
is that we will experience less asthma
and other respiratory illnesses and
heart disease in Texas!

ozone rule will mean that the number
of Texas counties that fall in ‘non-attainment’ of
the clean air standards will likely
The best way that municipalities can meet the new ozone rule will be to clean up and phase out existing coal plants and not build 12 proposed new coal plants in Texas.
The solstice signals a return to light -- the days grow longer and the nights shorter from this point forward. The EPA announcement means that there is hope for clean air in Texas!
