What is RSS?

Do you like what you see on this site?  Do you want to know when new content is posted?  Some of the Houston Sierra Club's web content is syndicated and you can subscribe to it to stay on top of the latest updates.

The most popular way to syndicate blogs or other content is using a technology called RSS, which stands for: Really Simple Syndication.

There are several ways to subscribe, including via handheld devices and websites like bloglines.com.  Many people use newsreaders (also called aggregators). Some popular newsreaders include: NewsMonster, NewzCrawler, NewsGator, NetNewsWire, Shrook (for Mac), RSSOwl, MyYahoo and BottomFeeder.   Depending on which method you're using to subscribe, you'll be notified of updates to the site, or you'll be sent a text excerpt and a link.

You can also subscribe to this feed using the Firefox browser's "Live Bookmarks" capability and using the feed subscription tool in Microsoft IE 7.
