Dayhikes and Other One-Day Excursions

PLACE: Guadalupe Mountains National Park, east of El Paso, Texas

DESCRIPTION:
We'll meet at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park Visitor Center just past the summit of Guadalupe Pass, where we'll take a look around before hitting the trail. We'll walk up the trail at a leisurely pace, taking time to enjoy the spectacular views and the clean air. Bring a hat, sunscreen, snacks and lunch, and plenty of water.

NAME: OSHA Trail Dayhike
PLACE: Near Cloudcroft, New Mexico

Join Coach and Global Warming/Cool Cities specialist Pinon on this easy but scenic trail just down the hill from Cloudcroft. Signage along the self-guided trail will explain the flora that you see there.

Several years ago, the Sierra Club fought hard to save this gorgeous land directly below Franklin Mountains State Park and adjacent to Trans-Mountain Road from the bulldozer. Developers wanted it for high-end homes; we wanted it preserved for hiking and biking. Come see what has happened to it!
