Young Sierrans is a life stage section within the Dallas Sierra Club.  Our mission is to connect, inform and involve environmentally-minded individuals in their 20s and 30s with opportunities that explore, enjoy and protect our planet.

MAY 15 (THU) KATY TRAIL 5K - DALLAS Come out and join us at this year’s 10th annual Katy Trail 5K, organized by Friends Of Katy Trail (www.katytraildallas.org). The event offers 5K WALK/RUN/SKATE options and is open to all levels of participants. At the end of the race, there’s a party in Reverchon Park, featuring signature dish samples from 50+ Dallas restaurants, along with beverages and music. MAY 29 (THU) YOUNG SIERRANS HAPPY HOUR - GLORIA'S RESTAURANT - ADDISON Please join the Young Sierrans for HaPpY hOuR at the Gloria's Restaurant in Addison. If the weather is pleasant we will be on the patio. HH to begin at 6:00PM. Gloria's offers drink specials and fine Salvadorian cuisine. All 20s/30s are welcome; you need not be a Sierra Club member to attend. Individual checks. JUN 5 (THU) YOUNG SIERRANS DINNER AND JAZZ UNDER THE STARS This dinner is being combined with the Dallas Museum of Art - Jazz Under the Stars (JUTS) concert series in downtown Dallas. This is a free concert event starring The Texas Gypsies (http://www.texasgypsies.com/indexb.html) that begins at 8:00 PM. Please RSVP since we need to “save” enough lawn space with blankets/picnic baskets/coolers so we all have a spot to sit together. Plan to arrive by 7:00p so you have time to park, join us on the lawn and relax by enjoying a cocktail while watching everyone else try to find a seat. If you want to join us for HH, please arrive any time after 6pm and find us on the lawn. Look for us near the sculpture on the lawn, with the green Sierra Club banner. JUN 14 (SAT) KAYAK POWER WHITE ROCK LAKE SPRUCE-UP The Young Sierrans will be joining the Kayak Power White Rock Lake Clean Up team as part of the 2nd Saturday, For The Love Of The Lake, monthly White Rock Shoreline Spruce-Up. JUN 24 (TUE) YOUNG SIERRANS DINNER - THE DREAM CAFE - DALLAS Please join the us for happy hour and/or dinner at the Dream Cafe in Dallas (Quadrangle) on Thursday, June 24th. If the weather is nice, look for us on the patio outside. Dinner at 7:15 PM; come earlier for happy hour (6:15 PM). All 20s/30s are welcome; you need not be a Sierra Club member to attend. JUN 28 (SAT) CLUB SERVICE OUTING AT CEDAR RIDGE PRESERVE The Young Sierrans have the opportunity to participate in a service outing at the Cedar Ridge Preserve, one of our closest special hiking locations, only about 20 minutes southwest of downtown Dallas. We will be removing non-native and overgrown plants from around the much loved cattail pond. Members and non-members welcome. For more info see the detailed description on the Outings homepage.
