Pat Suter, Chair, opened the meeting. Two actions were taken
during the
meeting. The first was to vote Yes to "Buy" a Table (eight tickets ) at the
Coastal Bend Bays Estuary Program Awards Dinner on October 22.
Hal Suter, Political Committee Chair, was contacted by a
Democratic Party
representative to explore ways that Coastal Bend Sierra could help the
Presidential Campaign. Hal said we might contact swing state voters that
are interested in the environment. He recommended sending post cards,
whereby we would be sent a mailing list of voters in critical areas. Members
agreed and voted for Hal to pursue it further.
Mina Williams, Venice Scheurich, Jeff Noel and Pam Baker attended
a
one-day meeting in Victoria of the Shrimp Advisory Committee of the
Texas Parks and Wildlife, where a Texas Department of Agriculture
representative talked about ways to help market Texas shrimp.
