- COMMENTS FROM THE CHAIR
Thank you. We had good participation from members for the Garage Sale held
last April 28. Special thanks go to those who contributed or worked on sale day.
They are Camp Gilliam, Frank Hankins, Jean Beck, Judy Tor, Henry and Randy
Berryhill, Teresa Carrillo, Mrs. John Zerr, Kenn Jobe, Charles Davis, and three
anonymous donors who did not sign the sheet. In any event, we made about
$200 in sales and $130 in cash donations. All together, not too bad. But if we do
this again (and so far it seems the best way to make our expenses as more
groups than ours proceed this way as well), then we need donations from others
than the "old faithful." We could have sold more things if we had them to sell.
Lots of customers, but the merchandise ran out.- This meeting on May 15 will be the last one until fall as most of the regular
attendees go out of the city for the summer. We have had an active and
quite successful year. Participation in city, industry, and environmental
committees working for the betterment of the cityis at an all time high. But we
always can use new blood and ideas. The membership in the SIERRA CLUB
is growing as it is in all environmental groups nationwide because of the
actions of the government in Washington. Our local roster is growing as well.
WE NEED YOU to be an active member of this group. Surely you have a reason to join.
What are you interested in?- During the summer most contacts with the membership will be with our web site
and via e-mail. If you wish to be included in the e-mail alerts which come out
periodically, then we need your address. E-mail me your address at
PHSuter@aol.com and you will be added to the list.
