SIERRA CLUB October 2003 Meeting Minutes

The CB Sierra Club met in a new place and really liked it. It is the
Blucher Nature Center, across from Blucher Park at 205 N. Carrizo
in Corpus Christi. It will be the meeting place for Sierra Club.

Most of the meeting time was given over to upcoming events:
A Health Science Fair was scheduled at Tuloso Midway Oct. 25;
on Oct. 29 a field trip to a Super Fund Site on Up River Road; a
Nature Tourism meeting at La Copita Ranch scheduled for Oct. 28.
Looking ahead, Earth Day-Bay Day will be celebrated April 17 2004
at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station.

The Lone Star Chapter had sent Pat Suter, Chair, a list of ten concerns
on which the state body wanted feedback from Sierra groups . Here are
some of the concerns, with some of our remarks in parentheses:
Major Environmental Issues (Over-population sustainable fresh water resources
habitat loss air pollution etc.)

Also, Relationship(s) between State Chapter and Groups (Need more resources
from state to CB Sierra and members). Ways to Increase Communication
(A list serve for this CB area was seriously discussed as being do able.)
