The photos below are compiled from several trips to the Sawtooth Mountains. The Sawtooth NRA is between Sun Valley/Ketchum, Idaho and Stanley Idaho in a beautiful valley through which the Salmon River runs.

8. Maria takes a lunch break near the inlet of Hell Roaring Creek. Hell Roaring Lake is in the background. The lake is in the NRA Primative Area (no motor vehicles allowed) and is about 4 miles up the trail from the 4WD parking lot at the end of a long dirt road. 23 . At this Sunshine Hot Springs on the Salmon River, a hot spring runs down from across the road into a series of shallow pools. Bathers move the stones around until they get the perfect mix of cold river water and very hot spring water.
