Welcome to the Austin Sierra Club's
Politics and Elections main page. The Sierra Club is a nonpartisan
organization that works to support pro-environmental candidates
for elected office. Our efforts range from voter education and grassroots
action to candidate endorsements and direct candidate support.
This
page is intended as a guide, mostly for Sierra Club members but
also for anyone interested in Environmental issues within the context
of our political system. The links below will take the viewer to
the endorsements of candidates judged most environmentally aware
by the National Sierra Club and by the Austin Regional Group of
the Sierra Club.

"All
Hat and No Cattle" - that's the Texas description
of anyone who talks a good show but does not deliver the goods.
The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club keeps track of key bills
introduced to the Texas Legislature and records the votes of Texas
Legislators and how they actually voted on issues critical to the
environment. Check out the Lone Star Chapters ENVIRONMENTAL
VOTING RECORDS (1993 - 2007) and discover for yourself
who is concerned about our environment and who is All Hat and No
Cattle.
