AUSTIN SIERRA CLUB OUTINGS PHOTO GALLERY

Welcome to our Photo Gallery. The Austin Outings group is one of the most active in the Southwest and we are proud of our reputation for going to the best and most beautiful places in good company and at very reasonable participant costs.

Our goal is to stimulate environmental activism by getting folks out into the beauty of nature and letting the trees "speak for themselves," as John Muir says.

Because when you know how much you have,

when you realize how beautiful, precious and fragile the natural parts of this planet are,

when you become aware of the rare jewels that belong to the American public

which are held in sacred trust for our children

and our children's children,

then you will be, as we are, aggressive foes of the anti-environmental forces that threaten to strip-mine, clear-cut, slash, burn, pollute and generally despoil our great American natural heritage.

This photo gallery is designed to give you an idea, albeit faint and distant, of the beauty and joy of visiting some of this country's wild and beautiful places.
