Government Canyon State Natural Area
June 7, 2008 – Family Day

Come celebrate Mother Earth and the great outdoors with your family! Family Day is geared towards introducing school age children to the natural wonders and stewardship of our environment.

There will be plenty of kid-friendly programming and booths set up for families to learn more about ways to get out, protect, and enjoy the great outdoors. Programs include Outdoor Games for Kids, Native American Ataltl Throwing, Leave No Trace PEAK programs for kids, Birding for Kids, and many others! Booths represented will include Edwards Aquifer Authority, Helotes Creek Nature Center, Friends of Government Canyon, San Antonio Water Systems, Government Canyon Trail Patrol, Sierra Club and many others!

Families should pack a picnic lunch to enjoy together and bring a hat, sturdy footwear, sunscreen, and weather appropriate gear for outdoor programming. 10am – 4pm. No pets please. Adult entry fees apply, children under 13 are free.
